Katie's current work streamlines the natural elements of the island climate and focuses on form, light and color. Inspired by the idea of celebrating the tiny natural objects you haphazardly pass, she gives the “Little Things”- a flower, a shell, a fruit - a voice by painting it large with an uncomplicated background.

For artist Katie Holtkamp, the ocean and art have always served as a constant comfort for her. Her paintings are a reflection of her love of the island and coastal life. SALT is the perfect space for her artwork as the gallery and Katie’s aesthetic share a common theme of celebrating the beauty of simplicity. Katie focuses on highlighting little snippets of what makes conch life so sweet. She streamlines the
natural elements of the island climate and focuses on form, light and color.
